The Importance of a Goal
Once upon a time, in a small forest village, there lived a rabbit named Coco. Coco was very fast and could jump really high, but there was one problem—Coco couldn’t focus for long.
One day, news spread about a big running race in the forest. It was a special event, and the winner would get a delicious carrot cake. Coco imagined the cake and said, “That’s mine!”
But there was a problem—training. On the first day, Coco ran hard. But on the second day, Coco chased butterflies. On the third day, Coco took a long nap. “I’m fast. I don’t need practice!” thought Coco. The day of the race came. All the animals were nervous, but Coco was confident. The race started, and Coco ran ahead of everyone. But soon, Coco got tired and couldn’t keep running fast. Coco hadn’t practiced enough.
Meanwhile, Lucas the Turtle, who was slow but trained every day, kept moving steadily. At first, Lucas was far behind, but he didn’t stop. As Coco slowed down, Lucas caught up and crossed the finish line first. Lucas won the race! Coco was sad and hung her head. Lucas came over and said,
“Coco, you are fast, but being fast is not enough. Setting a goal and working hard is what makes you win.”
Coco felt ashamed but also learned an important lesson. From that day on, Coco promised to work hard at everything!
