Jim had always wanted a horse. He worked for Mr. Brown. Mr. Brown had many animals. Jim helped take care of the horses. Sometimes he got to ride them in shows. One of the horses had a baby. Mr. Brown could see that Jim liked the baby horse.

 

Mr. Brown said, "You have worked for me a long time. I want to give you this little horse. It can stay here. But it is your horse now." Jim was thrilled to have his own horse. He took extra care to groom and feed it every day. The little horse grew strong and healthy under Jim's loving care.
